  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 medium apples (peeled and diced)
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix in melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour while kneading until a soft dough forms. Cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Peel, core, and dice the apples.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough and sprinkle diced apples on top.
  5. Roll tightly from one edge into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 20 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
