  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 170g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons neutral flavored oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 85g white chocolate, chopped
  • White sesame seeds for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with aluminum foil.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Add both sugars and mix until fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a dough forms. Fold in chopped white chocolate.
  6. Shape dough into balls and roll in sesame seeds.
  7. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-13 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
