Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm whole milk
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup Nutella spread
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast. Add lukewarm milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt; stir until dough forms.
  2. Gradually mix in softened butter and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 to 1.5 hours).
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread Nutella evenly over the surface, leaving borders.
  5. Optionally sprinkle chopped hazelnuts over Nutella. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Place slices cut side up in a greased baking dish and allow to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a glaze while buns are baking; drizzle over warm buns before serving.
